Junior Lawyer at the Swedish Schools Inspectorate
The Swedish Schools Inspectorate works for a school where all children, students, and adult learners, regardless of gender, receive a good quality education, an equitable education, and knowledge in a stimulating and safe environment. All children, students, and adult learners should be given the opportunity to develop as far as possible based on their conditions. The operations include four processes: regular supervision, thematic quality reviews, reporting cases, and assessment of permits for independent schools. We are located in Gothenburg, Linköping, Lund, Stockholm, and Umeå.
We are looking for you who
wants to work with legal work in public administration early in your career. You have a good ability to conduct legal analyses and quickly familiarize yourself with different areas of law. This position is therefore suitable for you who are at the beginning of your legal career.
The Workplace
The Legal Unit is a unit within the Department of Operational Support and Law located at the Swedish Schools Inspectorate's headquarters. The Legal Unit has overall responsibility for the authority's school law and administrative law issues and serves as a support function to the management and the authority's regional operations. The unit is responsible for legal quality assurance of decisions and coordination of principled legal positions. The unit is also responsible for driving the authority's processes in supervisory and permit cases in administrative courts and cases in the Teachers' Disciplinary Board. The Legal Unit is also involved in preparing the authority's consultation responses.
Job Responsibilities
As a junior lawyer in the Legal Unit, you will assist the rest of the headquarters with legal support in, among other things, confidentiality assessments and disclosure issues, as well as quality assurance in agency decisions in disclosure matters. You will also conduct basic legal investigations primarily in administrative law but also to some extent in school law.
Qualifications
You should have:
- Law degree
- Notarial qualification or equivalent experience
- Work experience in issues of public access and confidentiality
It is advantageous to have:
- Experience working with administrative law issues in public administration
- Work experience in school law issues

The Position
The position is a temporary appointment from April 7 to January 31, 2027. Start date is according to agreement. Place of employment is Stockholm.
